The George Washington University’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering currently has two Ph.D. position in the area of transportation engineering. Interested applicants should have an engineering educational background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering fields. Experience in traffic/transportation science is preferred.
The Ph.D. applicants are expected to have excellent programming skills (preferably C++, JAVA, and Python) as his/her research tasks will include traffic/network modeling, vehicular/pedestrian dynamics animation and data collection, mining and visualization. Knowledge in vehicle control and instrumentation/sensing is desired.
